Stuck in a rut in San Diego? No way!

I'm amazed at how many people I talk to who feel stuck in a rut...IN SAN DIEGO! Life has a way of doing that sometimes. It doesn't matter if you live in the country, or the big city, getting stuck in a rut can happen to anyone, anywhere.

I hate getting stuck in a rut! I can feel the energy drain when I am.

The only thing I know how to do when life feels like that is to get unstuck, by getting out. Sometimes I have to force myself to just do something different. It doesn't have to be much. It could be as simple as driving to the beach with my wife, walking along the boardwalk, and watching the sunset.

Keeping it simple is the way to go. I always love bringing a camera when I go to the beach, but I don't always bring my big camera rig. Tonight was a "point and shoot" night. It was a night of holding hands on the boardwalk with my wife, taking in the scenery, and a quick snapshot of God's beautiful light show.

Here's a shot from tonight. It's a single RAW shot, exported from Lightroom, straight into Photomatix. I did not bracket this shot. I didn't even know I could use a single shot in Photomatix until tonight. It came up on the menu, so what the heck...I hit the button. To my amazement, the HDR effect turned out pretty good.

I saved the shot, brought it into Photoshop Elements to sharpen and run my Neat Image noise reduction...and out came this! Not bad for a point and shoot camera.

Stuck in a rut in San Diego? No way! There's a ton of things to do...all for free! I'll bet where you live, the same thing is true... but you've got to get out of your rut to discover it!
